What is the TADP?
When Bridge City Autosports was formed, it was always the goal to orient it towards driver instruction/education. The hope was to start a program with a curriculum that people could work through from event to event, starting at basic skills and working towards more complex refinement.
The TADP will keep a file on each student to monitor their mastery in a variety of key skills around driving, racing concepts, racing terminology, vehicle setup, and more. Each time a student shows understanding and development in a key skill, the instructor will document it. After the student shows consistency of that skill through several events, they will move on to focus on a different skills. This allows the instructors to know where to focus, and tailor their instruction to the individual. A student may be focusing on several skills at any given time.
As the student progress through the three levels, concepts become more challenging (think physics), and begin focusing on pulling out fractions of seconds, rather than the large chunks of time that newer students may find themselves cutting off.
What will the pilot look like?
Currently, we will have a limited number of spots open at specific events, which will be an add-on to the standard registration options. The price during the pilot will be discounted, as we perfect and adjust the curriculum/program.
Prior to the event, an instructor will have access to the students current progress through the program, so they can prepare. The student will meet their instructor upon arrival, and instruction begins at the course walk. The instructor will take time walking through the course with their student going over key points such as line choice, predicted throttle and braking points, etc. Once the driving begins, the instructor will be with the student working on key skills as they see fit, following the curriculum and students needs.
